Produced as a PVC banner - and, for may years, the sole image on this website - this work lists the names of 500 artists (mostly artists I knew or had worked with, or who seemed to be an integral part of the London scene), arranged in order of their birth. My name appears too. It was a way of placing myself within a history. Artists often compare their progress (or lack of progress) with other artists and this was a stark way to make those comparisons.

Tracking down the year of birth for some artists wasn't easy, so the list is naturally open to lies, embellishments and self mythologising.
