33 Women (1992)

Each image shows a woman ('the artist') presenting herself through the re-presentation of another woman. The artist chose and researched the lives of 33 women that touched on part of her own identity and posed for the camera. The resulting photographs were then lasercopied and 'damaged', reflecting the condition in which much of the reference material was originally encountered.

I am Marilyn Monroe (lasercopy, various media, 30cm x 21cm)
